September 2015

(Ist class from Our Lady Queen of Peace getting their bus tickets stamped by Bus Eireann Supervisor Nigel)

Limerick once again participated in a very successful European Mobility Week, with this years theme being Multimodality "choose, change, combine"

A number of companies in Limerick took part in the National Transport Authorities very competitive Pedometer Challenge during mobility week.

Limerick Smarter Travel School project in Partnership with Bus Eireann and Green Schools kicked off European Mobility Week 2015 in Limerick with the very popular "Bus in the City" workshop. Students from 1st Class in Our Lady Queen of Peace and St.Johns Girls and Infant Boys School enjoyed a trip around Limerick City stopping for talks on safety and sustainable travel at Colbert Bus/Train Station Limerick and at Henry St Garda Station. It was a fantastic learning experience and hopefully next year it can expand to take in other key locations such as the fire station.

Road Safety Week will take place in October from Monday 5th to Sunday the 11th, with lots of road safety activities planned nationwide. We would love to hear what activities your school is planning to promote Road Safety Week.
